How do I sign up?

What do I Need to do?

1. Check your availability for rehearsals (Saturdays 6-8.30pm during summer term time) and production week (Mon 6th July - Sat 11th July)

2. Pick an appropriate speech and learn it by heart by the audition date (16th-17th Feb):

• Iago: male, white, a Junior Officer in the Venetian army

• Othello: male, black, a General in the Venetian army

• Desdemona: female, white, wife of Othello, a Venetian noblewoman

3. Rock up to the audition at CYTO on either the 16th or 17th February at 6-8.30pm

Is this audition different from CYTO's normal auditions?

Yes, this audition will be a bit different from CYTO’s usual workshop-style auditions, which you may already be familiar with. To audition for the roles of Desdemona, Othello, and Iago, you will come to the audition having memorised your monologue. Although this process may feel more formal than our usual auditions, we will facilitate the same supportive and accessible environment that you can expect from all CYTO sessions.​
