About this project

Having been awarded a thirty-year lease via a community asset transfer in 2022, CYTO is on a mission to upgrade our venue to benefit our youth theatre members and the wider community that hire from us and make use of our space. This large scale refurbishment, developed with the assistance of a community steering group and with much continuing consultation with our members and hirers, will see the an overhaul of our building to increase accessibility, visibility and flexibility in its use.

Part one - new signage, entrance doors, scene dock doors, CCTV and intercom installation and repairs to emergency exits. This initial stage of the project has been made possible by The South Norwood Regeneration Team, with a grant from the Mayor of London's Good Growth Fund and Historic England's High Street Heritage Action Zone. Works will take place in October 2024.

Part two - Thorough building surveys and feasibility study created based on research and proposals developed from community consultations and steering group meeting. Estimated cost is £60,000.
