DRAMA IMPROV

"A family of passionate young people who want to make a positive difference in the world of theatre"

Athena, Drama Workshop Member

Our weekly Friday night drama workshops are open to 6-18 year-olds of all abilities. Members learn a range of theatre skills through drama games, improvisation, devising and acting, in a sociable and relaxed environment. All levels of experience are welcome, making this a fun, friendly and creative introduction to CYTO and performance.

Gain confidence, meet new people and learn something new!

During the easing of lockdown, we are capping groups at 15 members. This is a safe space to meet people, make friends, relax and play, get on your feet and get energised!

There's no audition to join our workshops, just register!

THEATRETECH

TECHNICAL THEATRE

Our weekly Sunday night Technical Theatre workshop is a practical course that provides an insight to all the technical components that go into a live public performance.

Members are encouraged to develop their creative talents while learning about good, safe practice, and gain hands-on experience working on the end of term production. No previous experience or technical qualifications required - just enthusiasm!

Lighting, sound, set design - all the things that contribute to making a performance complete!

2:30pm-4:30pm - Ages 13-18

Update: relaunching mid May

"When I first joined CYTO I didn't know anything about working in a theatre. Now I'm working as a freelancer in a professional theatre"

HOW TO JOIN

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

If you're aged 6-18 and would like to join CYTO - take a look at our workshops or activities you like the look of, then give us a call on 020 8655 1098. Alternatively, you can register your interest here.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

If you decide to become a member there is a membership fee of £40 per term. People joining after a half term holiday are asked for a reduced fee of £20. Bursary places are possible and special arrangements can be made if this sum is difficult. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

DO I HAVE TO AUDITION?

There is no audition for workshops but we will ask you what involvement you've had so far in theatre (on or offstage). We do audition for shows. If your first visit is for an audition for a show and you become a member of the cast or crew, you will be asked to pay the membership fee next time you come.
